Art Sydney 2010

After seeing Banksy's film Exit Through the Gift Shop a few weeks  ago,  I thought I would get on the street art bandwagon and see what the ride was like. Turns out it's not so bad, and while I'm no expert, I know what I like and I know that I like it. And if you feel like purchasing some of it (and at much more reasonable prices than Mr Brainwash was peddling his wares for), then you're in luck. Today kicks of Art Sydney 2010, which showcases artists from a diverse range of galleries, and the fair's main purpose is to provide affordable art for purchase. According to the Art Sydney 2010 website:

Sydney’s affordable art fair offers something for every budget, with an extensive range of art available, from contemporary to traditional, emerging to investment. From educational art walks, floor talks, demonstrations and entertainment and a diverse range of galleries and hundreds of artists on site, they are the perfect environment to discover the art world, feel inspired and purchase original and authentic pieces you love.

And if you're after affordable street art, then check out the Urban Uprising stall at the event. They will be featuring prints from artists such as Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Nanami Cowdroy, Pure Evil and Nick Walker among others. So head on down to Moore Park to check it all out.
